Bruce has photographed motorsport since the 1970s specialising in colour, when others did not. His work has been published in publications such as Autocourse, Autosport, Auto Hebdo, Autosprint, Motorsport News and Rombo. He has written several F1 team histories. He is a Council member of the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) and a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers (GOMW).
